Meeting, sharing and exchanging experience

Dear friends and colleagues,

On behalf of the EUROGIN 2013 Organizing Committee, I am pleased to welcome you to the EUROGIN 2013 international congress.

As one of the most important conferences on human papillomavirus infection and cervical cancer prevention, our event continues to foster multidisciplinary interactions that are vital to making critical discoveries. The high-ranking scientific committee includes members representing a wide range of interests and scientific expertise that are required to develop an outstanding event. The program also encompasses state-of-theart science on anogenital and head & neck cancer, inspires collaboration, and provides forums to share expertise and learn from the leading experts in these fields.

The Italian Workshop will be held in Italian language for local participants. It will discuss current research on HPV-associated genital diseases. International experts of the head & neck Forum will address the most recent data on the role of HPV infection in oropharyngal cancers, highlighting issues on risk, diagnosis, management, screening, and prevention.

Let me draw your attention to two major scientific events during the conference:
1. The late breakers session will focus on the latest developments on HPV prophylactic vaccines and will release for the first time novel data on the effectiveness of the nonavalent HPV vaccine and the long-term immunogenicity of the bivalent vaccine.
2. The EUROGIN 2014 Roadmap session and its panel of experts will highlight the most recent data on HPV in men, comparing genital versus oral HPV infection.

The next days will offer excellent opportunities for learning and networking with professionals from many different disciplines. We hope that every conference attendee will take full advantage of the sessions offered: Training Courses, Oral Communications, Scientific and Main Scientific sessions, Clinical sessions, Poster presentations, and Satellite Symposia.

On behalf of the EUROGIN Organizing Committee I would like to extend our thanks to all of you who have worked hard to make this meeting a special event. Many thanks to the congress presidents, program and scientific committees, sponsoring organizations, the EUROGIN team, and to Net Congress & Education Italy.

I wish you a wonderful experience and an enjoyable stay in Florence and its region!

Sincerely yours,

Joseph Monsonego
Chairman of the Scientific Committee
