EUROGIN Sustainability Charter

 for a Green EUROGIN Congress

We are aware of the environmental effects large scale conferences can have on the environment. Our teams are looking to combat the ecological impact of our event to provide you with a more sustainable EUROGIN Congress.

We have the pleasure of working with Stockholm’s Waterfront Congress Centre, that implements green actions to sustain its building and in result reducing the disruption caused on our natural environment.

Sweden

In 2021 Sweden ranked 2nd in the UN’s Sustainable Development Report and is deemed to be one of the most sustainable-focused nations.

We could think that Stockholm, as the capital would be the greenest city in Sweden.

How wrong could we be, as a vast majority of Swedish towns are known for their vigorous takes on making Sweden sustainable all around.

  1. Biogas production: The initial aim was to reuse 70% of the city’s food waste into biogas production by 2020. In turn the energy in biogas could be used as a substitute for fuel, used to generate electricity or even be transformed into a fertilizer*
  2. Urban Traffic: Malmö is famously known for being a “clean transport” town.
The city has 560 km of bike lanes and at least a quarter of its urban traffic involves bicycles.
  3. Efficient building: Reducing gas and energy emissions can start from home.
That is why the town of Uppsala has implemented a climate neutral approach. New buildings are constructed using greener and reusable materials.

Digitalization

of Event Materials

It is our goal to promote digital communication and finding new ways to optimize our event whilst limiting the printing of unnecessary documents. To do so, we will be implementing the following:

  • A unique digital platform and App - designed to enhance your experience at AMWC and minimize printing, use our platform on your smartphone to access the program, floorplans, exhibition directory, browse abstracts and network.
  • Should we print materials such as programs, brochures, and flyers, these will be done using paper produced from sustainably managed forests that are certified environmentally friendly.
  • New and improved green badges that will be created using significantly less paper and will no longer contain plastic.
  • Limiting the number of inserts in our congress bag, instead materials will be found on our digital platform.
  • Attendees can download their certificate of attendance online after the event.
